Please enjoy this heartfelt contribution from one of our dearest members of the Conscious Dying Collective. May it serve as a stirring invitation for us all to embrace the wildness within.

An Invitation to Write a Prayer for My Wild Soul

Blessings to you my wild soul.
Blessings to the wildness of my soul and the soul of my wildness.

There, that's a start.
But where do I go from here?

How do I sincerely pray to something that feels a bit lost to

me? Lost first to the winds of time. Lost now to the huge crunch of time caring for new twin grandbabies, a toddler and a struggling post-partum daughter.

If I even knew where my wild was, how can I even pause long enough to find it?

An interior wildness was a constant companion in my thoughts and around my heart since…. well, forever. It was previously, always, easily located -- as if residing on the surface of my skin, like a slow-release watering into my sense of being. It has inspired spontaneous actions– some that were pretty good. It has sparked creativity that resulted in some interesting things. It has stoked the fires of some pretty awesome seeds of joy and excitement.

There has always been a wild soul in me -- even if at times an untidy, windswept wandering rebel-soul seeking any cause to wilder myself.

Yet at the dawn of this now 8th decade of my life, you ask me to write this prayer to my wild soul?... Continue Reading On Our Blog!

Community Spotlight

We recommend that all our doula students, and everyone for that matter, volunteer with hospice at some point. Meet Bloom Hospice and check out their volunteer opportunities!

At Bloom Hospice, volunteers are at the heart of their mission to provide compassionate, individualized end-of-life care across Colorado and Texas. Volunteers offer companionship, emotional support, Caregiver relief, and assistance with daily activities while also contributing through music therapy, art therapy, pet support, End-of-Life Doula care, and more. Their presence helps ease the journey for both patients and families, ensuring dignity, comfort, and connection.

As the Volunteer Coordinator for Bloom Hospice, Tess Reed has been dedicated to recruiting, training, and supporting their incredible volunteers for over a year. Her passion for this work is deeply personal—after losing her father to Alzheimer's, Tess felt called to end-of-life care, inspired by the legacy of service he instilled in her. In this role, she strives to build a

compassionate and committed volunteer community that enhances the care Bloom Hospice provides.

If you feel drawn to this meaningful work, we would love to have you join us. Learn more about volunteer opportunities at www.bloomhospice.com.
